Who is Hummly for?

For people who love music and have melodies they want to do something with. Whether you sing, play an instrument, write little tunes or just have an idea you can’t shake, Hummly gives you a place to start.

Do I need to know music theory?

You don’t need extensive music theory or production knowledge. Hum your melody, listen to different chords and beats, and choose what feels right to you.

Does Hummly generate a song from a prompt?

No. You start with a melody you hum or import. Hummly helps you find accompaniment and shape the mix around that original recording. Your melody stays the foundation.

Can I import a melody I already recorded?

Yes. You can import a supported audio file instead of recording in Hummly. A clear, single melody works best.

Where are my songs saved?

Your songs and drafts are saved on your device. No account is needed. You can export audio to keep or share; Hummly does not currently offer cloud sync.

When can I download Hummly?

We’re preparing Hummly for its App Store release. Sign up for launch updates and we’ll email you when it’s available. The first release will be free.
